The story behind Born2Samosa

NYC → DFW

New York roots. Dallas home base.

I’m originally from New York and now based in Dallas — the two cities in my Instagram bio, “Dallas ♡ NYC Roots.”

The Beginning

New York roots, Dallas appetite

I’m originally from New York — and I bring that to the table. When I try a halal platter in North Texas, the measuring stick is the street-cart food I know from back home.

Today I’m based in Dallas, where I cover the restaurants, openings and community nights of the DFW halal and desi food scene, plus the trips in between.

The Journey

From the feed to the front row

Today, Born2Samosa is a mix of restaurant reviews, community events and travel. In November 2025, my light-hearted in-flight moment on Emirates — “row 67” — went viral with more than 100,000 likes.

2026 brought bigger rooms: I captured boxing champion Amir Khan’s meet & greet at Arabeska Lounge in Plano, teamed up with Arabeska for a Pakistani & Indian Independence Day celebration, and covered openings across the Metroplex. My Instagram bio now reads “Creator & Micro-Influencer” and lists “CC Media | Brand Strategist.”

The Food

Honest bites, real verdicts

My reviews are built for people who actually want to go: what I ordered, what stood out, and the address. I’m not shy about a hot take — I’ve rated a Hurst platter spot above some famous NYC carts, and put a new Arlington spot’s tenders ahead of a national chain, for my taste.

My focus is halal — often zabihah — food across DFW, from family-run kitchens to brand-new openings:

  • Pakistani
  • Afghan
  • NYC-style halal platters
  • Desi–Italian fusion
  • Halal fried chicken
  • Birria & tacos
  • Lounge bites & mocktails
  • Chai & samosas

And when you go? I have a sign-off for that:

“Tell them Born2Samosa sent you.”

The Community

Food that brings people together

Some of my best moments aren’t about a single plate. They’re about the people around it:

  • Pakistani & Indian Independence Day at Arabeska Lounge, with free samosas and chai (Aug 14–15, 2026)
  • India vs Pakistan in the Asian Games T20 final, on the big screen at Arabeska (Oct 2026)
  • A Ramadan iftar buffet spotlight for families at Kababistan (Feb 2026)
  • Fans and families meeting boxing champion Amir Khan in Plano (May 2026)
  • A live music night of Pakistani & Indian classics with Folkstory at Arabeska (Oct 22, 2026)

Restaurant Collaborations

Partners at the table

My Instagram lists two featured partners: Arabeska Lounge in Plano and Urban Tandoori Pizza in Richardson. With Arabeska, I’ve worked on celebrations, event coverage and behind-the-scenes content days; with Urban Tandoori Pizza, I covered the launch of its Desi–Italian, zabiha-halal menu.

I’ve also spotlighted spots like 375° Chicken ’n Fries, Everything Halal, Alvi’s Kitchen, Kababistan and Halal Cuts.

The Mission

Put great local food on the map

Look across my posts and the same calls to action keep coming back: save this spot, tag your crew, go try it. My content points people toward real places — with addresses, standout dishes and honest opinions — and gives local restaurants, new and established, a moment in the spotlight.

Helping food lovers find halal spots worth the drive — and helping local restaurants get discovered.
